R E V I E W: NYX LINGERIE LIQUID LIPSTICK

Hello Beauties!

Liquid lipsticks are everywhere now, all the big beauty brands sell them and if  your looking to buy one..or two or three it can be hard to know where to start! Hopefully this is where i can help you by reviewing the NYX Lingerie liquid lipsticks! If you want to know all about these lipsticks then keep reading!

IMG_1957

P R I C E:

I purchased my liquid lipsticks from Priceline for $14.95AU, i feel like this is a reasonable price and a nice medium between high end and low end lipsticks. Although if you plan on buying the whole collection this could end up being a small fortune! You get 4ml’s of product in each tube.

P A C K A G I N G:

The lingerie liquid lipsticks come in simple packaging, not too bulky – perfect to fit into a small clutch or bag if need be. It has a wand applicator with a long, flat tip. Im not particularly a fan of the applicator as i have small undefined lips and without a point on the wand and it being so large i find it difficult to get the perfect lip with this, i end up going back with concealer to create a nice even “lip line”.

R A N G E:

This range is all about the more subtle, nude shades hense the name of the line! There are 24 shades all up ranging from pinky nudes, to peachy nudes to deep browns. There is definitely a nude for everyone in this range. I feel as though there is quite a good selection to pick from because they have those “in-between” colours that a lot of other brands don’t have! so i didn’t find my self having the usual dilemma of ‘oh i like that one but i wish it was bit lighter or a tad more peachy’.

W E A R:

I am pretty impressed with how these wear over the day! compared to some other brands of liquid lipsticks these are very lightweight on the lips and you only need one thin layer to get full colour payoff. If you do more then one layer it does tend to cake up and dry out so try not to layer it up if possible, also if you can’t stand the ‘dry’ feeling of matte liquid lipsticks i find patting on a light layer of lip balm before applying the lipstick   works really well to avoid that feeling without compromising the matte finish.

Top to Bottom: Lace Detail, Push Up, Bedtime Flirt, Embellishment, Exotic

O V E R A L L:

Overall i think these lipsticks are a great buy! The quality for the price is really good, you get a decent amount of product – they last a really long time and the colour range is great… 24 shades!? Its hard to resist buying every colour! There is definitely a shade for everyone in this range.

Thanks for reading lovelies ❤

F O U N D A T I O N F I X: Kat Von D Lock It Foundation

Good morning Beauties!

My second #foundationfix feature is the Kat Von D Lock It Foundation! This foundation is very popular in the makeup lover world so i feel its one worth reviewing.img_1925

Lets kick it off with what the Company claims this foundation will do for you: ‘This foundation has 21% pigment (wow), has a blend of siliconic elastomers and esters which bind the formula so your foundation is fade free.’

There really wasn’t too much on the website about this product other then what i just showed you which is weird, although this foundation is really hyped about its full coverage which explains why it boasts about 21% pigment.

THE PACKAGING:

This foundation comes in a plastic cylinder and has an airless chamber to avoid  contamination and helps to maintain the foundations consistency. I think the packaging is very nice, i believe Kat Von D designs all her own patterns in her makeup line which is pretty cool, and it adds a nice touch to her line. The bottle also comes with a little plastic lid which i recommend keeping as it prevents you from accidently pushing out product while its in your bag or suitcase etc.img_1935

HOW IT APPLIES/WEARS:

This foundation is extremely thick, in saying that i believe you only need a small amount of product as the pigmentation is so full on that you wouldn’t want to go overboard and end up looking cake. I use about a pea size amount and only one layer is necessary to get full coverage with a beauty blender. If you prefer a sheer, natural or skin like foundation this one is not for you! It sets matte and does tend to look a little un-natural. I mainly reach for this if i am looking for flawless coverage for a special event, this foundation is not one  would wear on a daily basis personally. The foundation wears really well throughout the day, staying matte and does not fade or slide off so it is great when you are really relying on your foundation to last all day and night! I really like matte finishes so i do find this foundation to be flattering on my oily skin but only when used in a small amount, its easy to go overboard with this one!  See below for photos of the foundation on my skin and also with and without flash on my wrist.screenshot_20170130-142313

OVERALL:

I believe this foundation would be great for makeup artists to have in their kit for photo shoot makeup, or for anyone who loves a good matte, full coverage foundation. You get a great amount of product for the price considering how little you need to use. This product is also vegan. The only issue i have with this is it makes my skin break out like crazy! I am assuming it has something to do with the pigmentation as i normally don’t break out or if i do its no where near as bad as what it is with this foundation. I would recommend using this for special events or for occasions where you need your foundation to hold up through a long, hot day. I probably wouldn’t personally re purchase this as i just don’t use it enough! Have you tried this foundation? Whats your thoughts on it?

I hope you guys enjoyed my review, have a beautiful day!

F O U N D A T I O N   F I X: Chi Chi Cosmetics Fabulous & Flawless Foundation review

Hey everyone!

I am super excited to start doing a new series of posts for you guys which will focus only on foundation reviews! The new #foundationfix posts will give you in depth reviews of foundations that i try out which will include information like: the finish, the wear, the price, the colours etc etc. I cant wait to start this journey with you all and i hope you enjoy! Dont forget to give this post a like if you enjoy this sort of thing so i can keep bringing you content that you love!

Lets get into it then!

So for our first #foundationfix feature i am reviewing the Chi Chi Cosmetics ‘Fabulous & Flawless Foundation’ you can purchase this foundation straight from chichicosmetics.com or they also sell it at Target and Myers. It retails for $29.95AU and they have 16 colours to choose from ranging from Ivory to Tanned.

The website claims this foundation is “ultra light weight with medium coverage, long wearing and smudge proof while being super moisturising and hydrating.”

I picked up the colour No. 2 ‘Fair’. One thing i did notice straight away was that i had to pick up a much lighter colour then i would normally reach for, i normally fall into the nude-neutral category, not fair! So the colours are quite dark and i feel like our pale beauties would struggle to find a shade to suit their skintone as the Fair shade would match my normal foundation tone. The foundation has a pump bottle which is great to keep your foundation clean and free from germs. I do find the pump a little tricky to use at times as it is not your standard pump. The product is in a frosted glass looking bottle which adds a little elegance to the appearance.

I applied this over the top of smashbox photo finish primer and it applied quite smoothly, it is definitely a moustirising foundation you can feel it hydrating your skin as you apply it. This foundation also has a light floral scent which is not too overpowering but if you dont like scents thats one thing to look out for. I found with this foundation i got a medium coverage, which could also be worked up to a high-medium coverage. I still had some freckles/scarring showing through but nothing dramatic. See below for my before and afters.

Before applying Fabulous & Flawless:

And After applying one thin layer of Fabulous and Flawless followed by touching up with the product where i felt i needed too.

I found this product applied best with a flat top Kabuki brush. I did also apply one side with a beauty blender but it didnt give enough coverage and i felt like i wasted product doing it this way so brush is best!

The foundation sat really nicely on my skin (i have large pores and oily skin with the occasional break outs) it did not make my pores look bigger or sink into them which is a must for any foundation i use. I would say this foundation has a satin type finish, i notoced a dewy glow to my skin while wesring this one. It did feel a little heavier on my skin then what i like due to the moisturising components and my skin also got oiler a lot quicker throughout the day but apart from that the coverage and the product held up for a full 10hrs. It did not become patchy even though my skin is more oily with this product which is good – nothing worse then patchy foundation!

One big highlight for this product is that it looks super flattering in photos, my skin looked absolutely flawless in a photo i uploaded on Instagram featuring this foundation. It also does not have any flashback which is another plus.

Check out the below photos for swatches of the Fair shade!

With Flash:

Overall im pretty impressed with this foundation, it gives great coverage and lives up to its word by hydrating the skin as well as giving medium coverage. It wont be one i reach for on a daily basis only because my skin is far too oily to wear something like this everyday but for the occasional day where i feel like having a nice glowing look, it will work perfectly! I am not the biggest fan of the pump they have used on the foundation and i also feel like the colour range could be improved but apart from those few things, for $30 its worth giving it a go!

Thanks so much for reading guys, let me know if you enjoyed the first #foundationfix post and dont forget to check out my instagram page! Have a beautiful day!

December Monthly Favourites

Hey Guys!

Miss me? It’s been a while! I am kicking this month off with my beauty Fave’s from last Month! Check them out below..

img_1853

1. L’Oreal Infallible 24HR Matte Foundation

This foundation will always be one of my favourite items, i wear it every single day as my go-to base for every look! Its light, and it does not have a greasy feeling at all when applied which is great as i already have oily skin! This bad boy is full coverage.

2. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

I have been loving this concealer for hiding my tired, dark circles under the eyes around the busy christmas period. This product has great coverage and is easy to work with. It does slightly crease if not set with a powder but its nothing i can’t handle!

3. Australis Velour Lips Matte Lip Cream in ‘Phenom-penh’

This colour seriously goes with absolutely everything.. clothes and makeup! I chose this most days for the month of December as it was quick, easy and long lasting. The colour compliments my skin tone and eye colour really well (it also makes your teeth look super white which is always a bonus!).

4. Essence Cosmetics Brow kit Duo

This eye brow duo is so so cheap! I picked mine up for $4AU at Priceline and it is just as good as any other high end brand brow powder. I was enjoying the lighter Ash brown shade in this kit last month.

5. MAC Cosmetics Blush in ‘Warm Soul’

One of my all time favourite blush’s is Warm Soul. This colour gives a natural flushed look and works well with many makeup looks, i normally use this blush on most clients i do makeup for.

There you have it, my top picks for December. I hope everyone has kicked off 2017 with a Bang! xx

REVIEW: Maybelline Contouring Palette

Hey guys!

Whats up? I feel like i haven’t made a post in a long time and to be honest its just one of those times in life where i can get inspired and motivated to do anything! buuuut I’m back and I’m bringing you a review of Maybelline’s Master Sculpt Contouring Palette!

Just the word ‘contour’ scares a lot of people because they don’t know how to do it, where to put it, what it does and how it will turn out. So i thought i would quickly explain these things to you before i jump into my review. Contouring is used for shaping your face. Pretty much any areas of the face/body you want to draw attention away from is where you want to apply your contour.  Most people use contouring on areas like cheeks, nose, forehead, chin, and neck. For example if you feel like you have a large forehead and wish to make it appear “smaller” then you would contour the sides of your forehead and around your hair line. This will draw attention away from your forehead and draw attention to areas like your eyes and nose. For your cheeks, you can apply contour in the hollows of your cheeks and a great way to figure out where this is on yourself is run your pointer finger down the side of your cheek and where you feel your finger drop in a little is where you should be contouring. This gives the illusion of a slimmer face and defined cheek bones (think Instagram makeup!). Now that you have a better understanding of what contouring is lets dive into the review!

IMG_1677.JPGThis contour kit comes in two colours – light and medium. I use the light shade and its perfect for my skin tone! (for reference i use the shade ‘Vanilla’ in the L’Oreal pro matte foundation). In this kit you get a contouring shade which fills most of the pan and a highlighting shade also. Underneath the pan they also provide you with a small travel size contouring brush and a mirror which is always handy. I don’t use the highlighting shade much as i like something a bit more full on but this whole kit would be great for contouring and highlighting newbies.

IMG_1681.JPG

I struggled to find a contour colour that didn’t make my face look really muddy and dark as all the previous brands i had tried did not provide a colour light enough for me so whenever i attempted to contour it just put me off wanting to keep trying because i couldn’t find a colour that looked half normal on me.. until now! This colour is perfect for me, you don’t need to use a lot of product at all and it applies really smoothly. I use this on most areas of my face including cheek bones, nose, forehead and chin and i don’t look like a pig who’s been rolling in mud which is always a great outcome! To apply this contouring shade i use a flat contour brush. I believe mine is from the brand models prefer.

IMG_1680.JPGOVERALL SCORE: 9/10

I LOVE this contour palette, its light enough for people with fair skin that still want to achieve pro makeup looks, its in a great travel size pan, its very affordable retailing at $19.95 at Priceline in AUS and it blends on the skin perfectly and lasts all day. If your new to contouring i highly recommend this over any other contouring product on the drugstore market – its hard to make a mistake with this product!

Thank you so so much for reading my short review, i hope i was able to give you some helpful tips and hints about contouring and a good over view of this product. Let me know your thoughts of this product below! Be sure to follow my Instagram account for new makeup looks and reviews daily.. thats all from me! Have an amazing day.

REVIEW: L’Oreal Paris False Lash Wings Mascara

Good morning Beauties!

I swear every time i find my new favourite mascara the next one i try is even better! At the moment i am loving the L’Oreal Paris false lash wing mascara, it gives me the perfect lash length and volume every time! Before i used this i was a die hard fan of Maybelline Mascara’s (Maybelline is actually owned by L’Oreal so its pretty much L’Oreal’s cheaper sister brand!) I actually received a free goodie box at a Priceline conference i attended last year that had this mascara in it so i thought why not give it a go – it was free after all.

IMG_1641.JPG

This mascara claims to lift and fan out your eyelashes and it does a great job of it! I believe its the brush that makes this mascara amazing. It has very small hard plastic bristles which separate your lashes and coats them evenly, making application a breeze. If you happen to get some on your eyelid it is extremely easy to remove unlike some other mascaras i have tried, simply get a cotton tip and twist it on top of the mascara and it should come right off!

IMG_1642.JPG

I find this mascara lasts all day and well into the night without flaking or smudging and it also comes in a water proof option for people with watery eyes etc. The false lash wing mascara retails for $25.95AU at Priceline but keep an eye out for a good bargain as L’Oreal is always having massive sales!

PRO’S

  • easily accesible
  • gives lashes length and volume
  • fans lashes out to give the effect of falsh eyelashes
  • affordable
  • brush makes application easy

CON’S

  • I seem to run out of product quite quickly

Well thats it guys, thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you have an amazing day ❤

REVIEW: Australis Oh Hai Brow Kit

Hey guys!

Since Australia Day was on Tuesday i thought what better way to celebrate then to share with you one of my favourite products from an Aussie Brand! Im talking about the Oh Hai Brow Kit from Australis. If you follow my instagram account (@glamoureyesx) then you would already know that i use this for pretty much every single makeup look i do. Let me show you why this is a holy grail product for me!

IMG_1653.JPG

PRICE

This brow kit is so cheap! compared to products like the Revlon brow pencil and the Anastasia Beverly Hills dip brow pomade the Australis brow kit is great value for money retailing at 16.99AU at Priceline. You can find Australis at Big W, Priceline and on the Australis online store.

PACKAGING

As you can see the packaging is a black plastic container which is nice and sturdy. On the back Australis has provided you with nice little instructions on how to use this kit complete with diagrams! Perfect for someone not confident at filling in brows. Inside you get a light brow powder, a dark brow powder, a highlight powder, a brown wax, a double sided application brush, a set of tweezers and a mirror, so you literally have everything you need in this kit! I also have one of these in my makeup kit as it has the different brow powder colours so its great to use on all different people!

IMG_1659.JPG

IMG_1656

QUALITY

This is hands down one of the smoothest brow powders i have ever used. Every time i decide to try something new to get out of my comfort zone i only end up disappointed. Im not sure what Australis puts in this stuff – but its magical! It lasts all day and i get compliments all the time on my brows. You can apply it with a light hand for a natural look or apply it with a heavy hand for a dramatic look – this product is very versatile. Also did i mention Australis is an Animal Cruelty Free Brand? So you don’t have to feel guilty about using this one!

Overall this product is great! I honestly don’t have one bad thing to say about it. Run out to the shops and grab this one ASAP – you need this in your life.

Thank you so much for reading my review, let me know below if you have used this and what your thoughts are. Have a beautiful day ❤
