Review: Sleek Highlighting Palettes

Morning Beauties!

Today I’m doing a review of the cream and powder highlighting palettes from Sleek Cosmetics. I have seen and heard a lot about both of these and i am excited to share my opinions with you!img_1900

The packaging is super sleek and stylish, the powder compact has a reflective gold case with 4 shades inside while the cream compact has a gun metal coloured case and also has 4 shades. Each case comes with an applicator brush to use which is convenient for any one using these palettes on the go or while travelling. There is also a large mirror on the inside of the lid. The exterior is a sturdy case which i feel is good for protecting the product inside  while its in your handbag or makeup case and again for those travelling with the palette.

Cream – I am not a huge fan of cream anything really as i feel powder is easier to work with, Although these cream highlighters do have a nice colour pay off and seem to be quite long lasting – they dont budge during my 12 hour days which is great! One of the shades in this palette is a powder which is great if you didn’t want to buy the two palettes. There is a nice variety of shades in here including a frosty cream, a pinkish gold, a pale gold and a darker bronze colour. I feel there is a nice range of colours for all skin types to pick from this palette, this would be a great one to add to a makeup artists kit.img_1902

Powder: One thing i love about this highlighting palette is that it is so different to everything else on the market! The colours are not your ordinary gold, pale gold and bronze, Sleek have mixed it up with this one adding a frosty pinkish lavender shade and a coral orange shade – perfect for anyone who doesn’t like to follow mainstream trends and is a unique individual. The colour pay off is great the only thing i don’t really enjoy is there is a lot of glitter in these colours, i prefer a soft shimmer to give a subtle glow. I also feel like the colours are really light once applied so people with tanned or dark skin may find these shades hard to work with as they will give off a frosty colour. This palette again has one cream shade for variety.img_1903img_1906

These palettes are super cute and stylish, have plenty of shades for variety so a lot of people can use these and they are really affordable! You can’t really go wrong with it! These palettes would be great for anyone starting out their makeup collection or kit. Have you used these highlighting palettes before? If so, whats your Favourite shade?

Thanks for reading, have a lovely day!

*REVIEW* Mary-Lou Manizer from ‘The Balm’

Good morning Beauties!

Today I’m bringing you a quick review of the well known Mary-Lou Manizer from The Balm!

This cute compact is a highlighter, shimmer & eyeshadow all in one!
While I use this mainly as a highlighter I can see how it would be great as an eyeshadow for your inner corners of your eye and to highlight your brow bone. It retails for $33.00AU on a website called bosa beauty

So for $33 you defiantly get your money’s worth in this multipurpose compact. I’m on the hunt for my perfect highlighter and this one would be in my top 5. It has a beautiful creamy buttery like texture and it glides on your cheeks like a dream. It isn’t too shimmery with glitter but gives more of a healthy glow to your skin. It also looks beautiful along the bridge of your nose and above your Cupid’s bow.

Overall I am in LOVE with this product. I would recommend this to anyone new to highlighters and isn’t too sure where too start, and also to anyone who wants a perfect light gold highlighter. It lasted all day on my cheeks even when the rest of my makeup seems to be sliding off my face (my oily skin girls will understand!) which is exactly what I need!

My verdict: 10/10

Let me know if you own this product & what your thoughts are about it?

That’s all for now have an amazing day!

5 tricks and tips to make small lips look fuller/bigger!

Hey guys!

Today I thought I’d do a quick guide on how to make small lips look bigger!
These tips are great for anyone who wants to make their lips look a little bigger without doing something permanent to your lips (lip injections etc).
Anyone can do these simple steps all you need is lip liner, lipgloss, lipstick and a shimmer highlighter or eyeshadow.

1. Use lip liner around the edges of your lips to create your desired shape & size. Don’t forget to fill in the rest of your lips to keep the colour consistent, then apply lipstick.

2. Always wear lighter shades of lipstick, darker colours make your lips look smaller so if you have small lips you won’t be doing yourself any favours by wearing super dark lipstick.

3. Dab a lighter shade of lipstick in the middle of your lips to make them look plump.

4. Apply white eye liner or a shimmery light gold highlighter/eyeshadow to your cupids bow & under the centre of your bottom lip, make sure your blend it in so it’s not too harsh. This helps give the illusion of bigger lips

5. Lastly, always wear lipgloss, lipgloss reflects light, making lips look shiny, full & plump. If you don’t want to wear a gloss just dab a small amount of gloss on the centre of your lips instead of doing a full coat – this will still work.

Here is a before and after using the tips and tricks I have told you about above! 🙂

We’ll that’s it for now I hope these little tips were helpful! They definitely help me as I have small lips.

Have a lovely night
