Tarte Cosmetics Shape Tape Concealer Review

Hey guys!

Everybody loves a good concealer and has particular things they always consider before purchasing one, it hopes it will be the perfect pick! The Shape Tape Concealer from Tarte is everywhere on the internet at the moment, you can’t miss it! So i thought a review of this concealer will help a lot of people decide if they want to fork out the money to buy it, or not!img_1953

PRICE:

Firstly the price is definitely on the more high end side retailing for $37US on the Tarte website. This may seem a little too much for some people for a concealer but i do feel you get a lot of product out of this as a little goes a long way!

PACKAGING:

The packaging is a simple plastic tube with a twist off lid and a doe foot applicator. Let me tell you, the doe foot applicator is HUGE! It does make it easy to get as much product as you need in one swipe for time poor gals, although i feel like i always end up with wayy too much product on mine and i constantly need to wipe the tip on the edge of the bottle other wise i end up wasting product because i have too much on my face and no amount of blending is going to camouflage that! Another thing that frustrates me about this packaging is that because too much product comes out and i wipe the excess on the tip of the bottle, i end up with concealer all over the twist section of the cap and to me that is such a waste of product. The packaging could be improved.img_1954img_1956

APPLICATION:

This concealer honestly applies like a dream! it is so creamy yet light on your skin, it does not look cakey what so ever yet still gives you full coverage. One thing i struggle with is creasing. Every concealer i use always creases within seconds and i can’t even get in quick enough with a setting powder before the creasing starts, but with the Shape Tape i honestly did not have this problem at all! I was really shocked at how well it sat on the skin without being set with a powder. This concealer also has a light floral scent which is really nice and refreshing while still not being over powering. I picked up the colour Light-Neutral and i found this perfect for my fair skin tone. I use a darker foundation when i fake tan and this still matched perfectly to my darker foundation as well.

WEAR:

I wear this every single day and let me tell you, this baby holds up SO well… its amazing, on my skin it does not crease, slide off, fade, nothing! it just stays perfect how it should be all day. I also applied some of this on my eyelids as i have prominent veins on my eyelids and then eyeshadow over the top of that and it did not effect my eyeshadows wear either which is great. When it comes to the wear of this i honestly have no complaints what so ever.

OVERALL:

If your looking for a full coverage, build able, long wearing, non creasing concealer that you can also use for highlighting AND contouring, then i highly recommend picking this one up! Its totally worth the money and you get a lot of product. I have definitely found my new holy grail concealer! Tate have totally stepped up their game lately with their products and i can’t wait to see what they come up with next!

Have a beautiful day!

REVIEW: Alpha-H Liquid Gold

Good morning!

You have most likely heard of Liquid Gold before, it is a cult product in the beauty world and a must have item. Alpha-H have a whole line of products in the liquid gold range ranging from serums to masks. Today i am reviewing the Original Liquid gold, lets go!

What is Liquid Gold?

As quoted from the Alpha-H website “Liquid Gold is a resurfacing treatment that effectively diminishes wrinkles, pigmentation and sun damage. It works like an overnight facial to brighten and revitalise tired, ageing skin and improved the overall appearance of the skin.” – Piece taken from http://www.alpha-h.com in the Liquid Gold product description.

How do you use Liquid Gold?

You simply take a cotton pad and dab a small amount of the product on there, then swipe upwards and outwards all over the face, thats it! There is no need to apply any other moisturisers or serums as the product works best on its own. If you wish to use other products with the Liquid Gold then you surely can, it may not be as effective though. Its recommended to use this product every second day as it does contain Glycolic Acid.

Why should i choose a Glycol Acid Product?

Glycolic acid helps with many things, a few of these include:

Hydration- Glycolic acid will help raise your hydration levels in your skin

Skin Firming – Glycol acid helps to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles and over time firms the skin.

Acne scarring/ pigmentation – Glycolic Acid will help even out your skin tone by softening the appearance of acne scarring or uneven skin tones in the skin

My personal experience with Liquid Gold

At first i was skeptical as per usual but the very first night i used this i woke up the next day and wondered why my skin looked so fresh and smooth ( i suffer from acne scarring and pigmentation) i then remembered i had tried the liquid gold and after that – i was hooked! I also noticed my oil levels in my skin dropped and the oil was controllable when using this. I didn’t feel the need to check my face 20 times a day to make sure i wasn’t gleaming to the gods, Holla my oily skinned gals! Overall i really enjoy this product and did notice a difference in the texture, colour and firmness of my skin. This product is definitely worth re purchasing. If you haven’t tried it and you suffer from any of the above mentioned problems then i highly suggest checking out the Alpha-H website and reading up on their products.

REVIEW: Clearasil Superfruits Toner

Hey guys!

Today i am bringing you a quick review of the Clearasil Superfruits refreshing Toner. Toner’s are an important step in everyones skincare routine that often gets over looked.

Why do i need a Toner?

When you cleanse your face with face wash, your skins PH becomes unbalanced. In order to balance the PH in your skin again you use a toner! It is also great to remove any excess dirt, oil or makeup you may have missed when cleansing your face so it really is an important step.

The down-low:

This product is very refreshing on the face just as the product claims it would be! It has a light, fresh fruit smell that makes you think of Summer and i love that! I have acne prone skin so its important that any products i use don’t break me out! The Clearasil brand is well known for its skin clearing products so i was not worried about this but incase your wondering, my skin looks amazing when i add this to my skincare routine! A little product goes a long way so i feel you would get a good 6 months at least out of this 200ml bottle. I really don’t have anything bad at all to say about this product – I love it!

*Essano Rosehip Oil VS. Sukin Facial Treatment Oil*

Hey guys!

We are all curious in the world of facial oils but these days there are so many to pick from it can quickly become overwhelming. Today I thought I would do a comparison between two facial oils I have tried and give you my honest opinion on them. Keep in mind I have oily acne prone skin. Just because you have oily skin that doesn’t mean you can’t use facial oils! If anything it’s more of a reason for you to use an oil because the more oil you put back in to you skin after you wash your face, the less oil your skin will produce so don’t be scared to try it out (I promise you it’s worth while doing so!)

Competitor No. 1 – SUKIN FACIAL TREATMENT OIL 25ML $19.99AU (www.priceline.com.au)

This facial oil is packed full of goodies! It boasts a rich blend of ingredients including Rosehip oil, Maracuja oil, Argan oil and Jojoba oil. Each of these oils play an important role in this treatment oil. Argan oil revitalises your skins complexion and helps prevent signs of ageing. Maracuja oil and Rosehip oil brighten and soften your skin giving you youthful, plump skin and Jojoba oil helps to lock moisture in your skin to keep it supple and smooth. It is recommended to apply this oil morning and night. I personally LOVE this oil, it makes my skin feel moisturised and soft  and I know I’m doing something good for my skin by using this product. I only use this at night as I do have oily skin so I feel it to be too much for my face throughout the day. Although my skin is oily this product does not make it any oiler and it also does not make my skin break out in acne, which is something a lot of people are afraid of with oils. The only thing I dislike about this is that it occasionally makes me get small black heads on my forehead but it’s nothing major and it’s one of those things you can only notice if your really looking for something to pick at!

Competitor No. 2 – ROSEHIP OIL BY ESSANO WITH ACAI BERRY ANTIOXIDANT 20ml $19.99 (www.priceline.com.au)

Rosehip oil is very popular among a lot of skincare enthusiasts and for good reason! Rosehip oil reduces the appearance of fine lines, scare, stretch marks and sun damage. That’s a lot of things for one product to claim to do! A lot of people swear by Rosehip oil, Essano’s being a favourite. It has a very light, non greasy feeling and it is quickly absorbed into the skin. It is recommended to apply this oil morning and night for best results. This oil did not break my skin out or give me black heads but strangly enough it made my skin very dry. I have oily skin and I like to do what I can to reduce the amount of oil on my face but I felt this dried out my skin too much! (I never thought I would say that about my skin!) Rosehip oil is known to be a dryer oil so that obviously has something to do with it. I am still able to use this oil when I mix it with Tarte cosmetics Maracuja oil which helps add a bit of moisture. Everyone’s skin is different thighs and this may react completely different with your skin type. Both of the oils featured today have a dropper for application which is standard with most oils.

Drum roll please!! The winner is SUKIN facial treatment oil!

This oil is just amazing, It is an essential part of my daily skincare routine. It has the Rosehip oil in it as well as plenty of other good oils – what’s not to love! Anytime my skin is feeling rough or dry I smother my face in this stuff, it feels so nice on your ski. And not greasy at all. For $20 you can’t go wrong. I hope this helped you in your search for an awesome facial oil!

Let me know if you have used these oils beforeand what your thoughts on them are, or if you use something else let me know what it is below!
Have a beautiful day!
