R E V I E W: FENTY BEAUTY FOUNDATION + PRIMER

Hey Beauties,

I have a very exciting review for you today on the FENTY BEAUTY foundation and primer by Rihanna.. eeek! lets jump straight into it!IMG_2001

IMG_2004

PRO FILT’R INSTANT RETOUCH PRIMER

What the product claims to be: The Sephora website states that this is ‘A shine stopping, pore diffusing primer that smooths the way for a better foundation application and longer wear.’

Price: I purchased this primer on the Sephora website for $46AU, which is pretty pricey but you do get 32ml of product which is a little more then your average primer.

Packaging: It comes in a luxurious frosted glass bottle with a dusty pink lid and feels verrryy fancy, which you would expect for the price! IMG_2019

Application: This primer literally looks and feels like a hydrating, thick moisturiser. It is a soft pale pink colour, but this does not transfer to your face when applied. Although it is thick and creamy, it does not feel heavy on your skin which is good cause no body wants to feel like they are wearing a mask before they even get foundation on! I have large pores and i did notice this defused my pores, almost ‘blurred’ them and made for a nice smooth base for the foundation.IMG_2005IMG_2006

IMG_2001.JPG

PRO FILT’R SOFT MATTE LONGWEAR FOUNDATION:

What this product claims to be: ‘A soft matte longer foundation with build able medium-to-full coverage, in a range of 40 shades.’ – Sephora website

Price: This retails for $50AU just $3 more then the Primer, again you get 32ml of product so just a bit more then your average foundation.

Packaging: The Foundation comes in a glass frosted bottle with a white shiny plastic cap, matching the primer’s packaging. I prefer the pink primer packaging though as the colour is so pretty! Both the primer and foundation have a pump which is great for easy dispensing!IMG_2009

Application: Now this foundation range has a HUGE 40 shades to pick from so it was really hard to pick a shade! There is pretty much a Neutral, Pink and Yellow undertone for every single shade making this range very diverse. Women of any colour can wear this foundation! I picked up the colour 190. After watching a few reviews of this foundation on Youtube i knew that this Foundation would oxidise so this made my decision a little easier between 200 and 190. Lucky for me this was a perfect match once oxidised (Thank god!) This foundation is very thin and watery like in consistency meaning you need to work fast once its on your face. I found that one pump covered my whole face with a Kabuki flat top brush. It applies medium coverage with one pump of product but easily built up into full coverage with another pump of product. It applies really beautifully on the skin, smoothes over any flaws like blemishes, large pores and makes a lovely base for the rest of your makeup. The coverage is a really great medium coverage and buildable to full coverage.IMG_2013

Wear: OKAY so, this foundation seriously feels amazing on the skin! It is very light and weightless which is so good for my oily skin gals! On me personally it kept oil at bay for a good 6 hours or so before i felt the need to re touch (i usually retouch every 3 hours or so as my skin is extremely oily) so for me this was GREAT! It minimised the appearance of my pores and created a super smooth base. I did not notice any separating throughout the day and it did not sink into my pores. It covered all of my blemishes, scarring and veins with two pumps of product, a little definitely goes a long way with this foundation. It dries to a matte finish so there isn’t really a need to set it if you prefer not to use a powder. I did notice it transfers just a little tiny bit, but not enough to deter me from wearing this foundation. Although it is matte, i definitely get what they mean by a soft matte finish, it still looks ‘skin like’. Its not like most matte foundations, looking dry settling in lines and pores, instead this makes your skin look soft and smooth (even if you have texture) while still giving you a matte finish but not paint like.20170919_084850

OVERALL: I am actually very surprised with these products! I was very skeptical at first thinking ‘oh this is just another gimmicky celebrity makeup line its not going to be good’ but after seeing a tone of reviews online nearly everyone had positive feedback so i thought id give it a go and its absolutely beautiful! So far i have no complaints at all, being an oily skin gal i am loving the matte finishes in both the primer and foundation, its long lasting, it has buildable coverage so you have a choice of what kind of finish you can have and theres 40 SHADES – that is absolutely amazing! so you are not limited for choice. The price is reasonable for the quality and amount of product you get. All i can say is if your a foundation enthusiast, you NEED this is your life – Go get it now!!

H O W T O: Platinum Blonde Hair at Home

Hey guys!

So the number one thing i get asked about or complimented on is my hair. Everyone is always asking how do you get it that colour? how do you keep it that colour? how do you stop brassiness? and my most viewed blog post is the one about maintaining ash blonde  hair! So i thought it was FINALLY time to show everyone a quick over view of what i do to get my hair this colour (If you would like a more detailed step by step guide, let me know in the comments below!). I will be doing a root touch up here as i have no need to re-colour the rest of my hair.

***DISCLAIMER: I am not a professional hairdresser and i do not recommend that you do this yourself as you may not get the same results shown here, this is just what i do personally and what works well for me, You should always seek advice from a professional for hair colouring.

OK SO, first off these are the products i use for this whole process:

  1. Creme developer 30 VOL
  2. Any WHITE OR CLEAR conditioner
  3. Fudge violet toning shampoo
  4. Blue Hi Lift powder bleachIMG_1807

Firstly i will show you a greasy before photo of my hair – its best for me to bleach on dirty hair so the natural oils build up and help to protect my hair through the bleaching process.IMG_1810

To make the hair bleach i mix the powder and developer in a 1:2 ratio, so i normally use 3 spoons of hi lift powder and 6 spoons of 30 vol creme developer. Mix this up and get to work right away as it doesn’t lift as well if left too long. It should have a creamy consistency.IMG_1817IMG_1819IMG_1821

Next i apply the mix straight to the hair i want to lighten, being careful not to overlap the already bleached hair to prevent unnecessary damage to my hair, once I’ve applied this to my whole head (on the uncoloured hair) i leave it in  for 30 minutes-45 minutes and wrap my head in foil to let the bleach do its thang and keep the heat in. I never leave it on longer then 1 hour. IMG_1823

After 30-45 minutes my hair looks like this:IMG_1828

The next step is to rinse all the bleach out, then i shampoo with any shampoo i have and DO NOT condition the hair, i then towel dry it to start the toning process. Here is what it looks like fresh after bleaching with no toner:IMG_1836

Then, i get my conditioner and pour out enough to generously coat all of my hair into my container and then about a 20c piece size amount of purple shampoo and mix it all together to make a lilac coloured toner! I then apply this to the roots the same way i did with the bleach mix and then use whatever is left over to put through my ends for a freshen up and condition! I leave this is for about half an hour.IMG_1831IMG_1842

IMG_1844

And thats literally all i do! See below for the end result! I re-do this process every 6 weeks or so and have found this is what works best for me, normal toners are too harsh on my hair as it is so light and i dislike the grey/purple tinge they leave in my hair.IMG_184720170909437374272IMG_20170809_124348_893IMG_20170827_185920_257IMG_20170520_112019_980screenshot_20170427-205406.png

I hope that gave you an insight into how i get my hair this colour, if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask me in the comments, thank you so much for reading!! until next time ❤

R E V I E W: NYX LINGERIE LIQUID LIPSTICK

Hello Beauties!

Liquid lipsticks are everywhere now, all the big beauty brands sell them and if  your looking to buy one..or two or three it can be hard to know where to start! Hopefully this is where i can help you by reviewing the NYX Lingerie liquid lipsticks! If you want to know all about these lipsticks then keep reading!

IMG_1957

P R I C E:

I purchased my liquid lipsticks from Priceline for $14.95AU, i feel like this is a reasonable price and a nice medium between high end and low end lipsticks. Although if you plan on buying the whole collection this could end up being a small fortune! You get 4ml’s of product in each tube.

P A C K A G I N G:

The lingerie liquid lipsticks come in simple packaging, not too bulky – perfect to fit into a small clutch or bag if need be. It has a wand applicator with a long, flat tip. Im not particularly a fan of the applicator as i have small undefined lips and without a point on the wand and it being so large i find it difficult to get the perfect lip with this, i end up going back with concealer to create a nice even “lip line”.

R A N G E:

This range is all about the more subtle, nude shades hense the name of the line! There are 24 shades all up ranging from pinky nudes, to peachy nudes to deep browns. There is definitely a nude for everyone in this range. I feel as though there is quite a good selection to pick from because they have those “in-between” colours that a lot of other brands don’t have! so i didn’t find my self having the usual dilemma of ‘oh i like that one but i wish it was bit lighter or a tad more peachy’.

W E A R:

I am pretty impressed with how these wear over the day! compared to some other brands of liquid lipsticks these are very lightweight on the lips and you only need one thin layer to get full colour payoff. If you do more then one layer it does tend to cake up and dry out so try not to layer it up if possible, also if you can’t stand the ‘dry’ feeling of matte liquid lipsticks i find patting on a light layer of lip balm before applying the lipstick   works really well to avoid that feeling without compromising the matte finish.

Top to Bottom: Lace Detail, Push Up, Bedtime Flirt, Embellishment, Exotic

O V E R A L L:

Overall i think these lipsticks are a great buy! The quality for the price is really good, you get a decent amount of product – they last a really long time and the colour range is great… 24 shades!? Its hard to resist buying every colour! There is definitely a shade for everyone in this range.

Thanks for reading lovelies ❤

Colour Pop Cosmetics Pressed Eyeshadow Review

Good morning Beauties!

I have been purchasing a lot of makeup recently and one of the things i bought a few months ago was the colour pop new pressed eyeshadows. I already had the super shock eyeshadows and loved them so i was excited to try out the pressed eyeshadows.

img_1961

PRICE:

Guys, these eyeshadows are so cheap. One thing colour pop does right is their prices! Colour pop products are perfect for anyone starting out in makeup and doesn’t want to spend a fortune, or just for those people who love a good quality product for a low price! The pressed eyeshadows retail for $5US on the Colour Pop website – so. cheap. I can never help my self when browsing through the website, i end up with 20 eyeshadows because well, why not!

APPLICATION:

These eyeshadows are so smooth and silky, you can’t even feel the product on your skin! I typically use a soft fluffy brush to apply these eyeshadows to the crease and then a flat stiff brush for the lid, or my finger – whatever I’m feelin that day. Since the product is so soft it really makes application a breeze as it goes on so perfect that its hard to make any mistakes really. I haven’t tried any of the lighter shades so i couldn’t tell you if they come off chalky at all but the darker shades i have purchased are lovely.

img_1962

Colours Top to Bottom: Made to last, I owe you, wait for it, Making moves, Stay Golden.

PACKAGING:

The pressed shadows simply come in a metal pan that you will need to put into your own palette, i use a z palette to hold mine. So if you don’t have one of these it could be a bother as you will either need to purchase one or, leave the pan in the plastic sleeve it comes in so you don’t risk dropping it and cracking the shadow, or losing it.

OVERALL:

I absolutely LOVE these eyeshadows! since buying these i have used them on a daily basis and i can’t put them down. I will definitely be purchasing more of these and for the price i might just buy every colour available! I do hope they extend the line and bring out more colours in the pressed eyeshadow range.

Thanks so much for reading guys! Check out my Instagram for more beauty and makeup lovin!

Tarte Cosmetics Shape Tape Concealer Review

Hey guys!

Everybody loves a good concealer and has particular things they always consider before purchasing one, it hopes it will be the perfect pick! The Shape Tape Concealer from Tarte is everywhere on the internet at the moment, you can’t miss it! So i thought a review of this concealer will help a lot of people decide if they want to fork out the money to buy it, or not!img_1953

PRICE:

Firstly the price is definitely on the more high end side retailing for $37US on the Tarte website. This may seem a little too much for some people for a concealer but i do feel you get a lot of product out of this as a little goes a long way!

PACKAGING:

The packaging is a simple plastic tube with a twist off lid and a doe foot applicator. Let me tell you, the doe foot applicator is HUGE! It does make it easy to get as much product as you need in one swipe for time poor gals, although i feel like i always end up with wayy too much product on mine and i constantly need to wipe the tip on the edge of the bottle other wise i end up wasting product because i have too much on my face and no amount of blending is going to camouflage that! Another thing that frustrates me about this packaging is that because too much product comes out and i wipe the excess on the tip of the bottle, i end up with concealer all over the twist section of the cap and to me that is such a waste of product. The packaging could be improved.img_1954img_1956

APPLICATION:

This concealer honestly applies like a dream! it is so creamy yet light on your skin, it does not look cakey what so ever yet still gives you full coverage. One thing i struggle with is creasing. Every concealer i use always creases within seconds and i can’t even get in quick enough with a setting powder before the creasing starts, but with the Shape Tape i honestly did not have this problem at all! I was really shocked at how well it sat on the skin without being set with a powder. This concealer also has a light floral scent which is really nice and refreshing while still not being over powering. I picked up the colour Light-Neutral and i found this perfect for my fair skin tone. I use a darker foundation when i fake tan and this still matched perfectly to my darker foundation as well.

WEAR:

I wear this every single day and let me tell you, this baby holds up SO well… its amazing, on my skin it does not crease, slide off, fade, nothing! it just stays perfect how it should be all day. I also applied some of this on my eyelids as i have prominent veins on my eyelids and then eyeshadow over the top of that and it did not effect my eyeshadows wear either which is great. When it comes to the wear of this i honestly have no complaints what so ever.

OVERALL:

If your looking for a full coverage, build able, long wearing, non creasing concealer that you can also use for highlighting AND contouring, then i highly recommend picking this one up! Its totally worth the money and you get a lot of product. I have definitely found my new holy grail concealer! Tate have totally stepped up their game lately with their products and i can’t wait to see what they come up with next!

Have a beautiful day!

Australis Brow Tint VS. Maybelline Brow Drama

Hey Lovelies!

I am a brow addict so using the best brow products means everything to me! So i thought today for something different i would do a mini comparison of two brands brow products that i have tried and tested and give you my honest opinion!

No 1. Australis Cosmetics Brow Tint in “Dark Brown”img_1897

First of all how cute is this packaging?! Its so tiny and retro i absolutely love it! The product comes in a tube with a spoolie attached to the lid which is a standard shape, nothing crazy – I prefer this as its easier to control and apply to your brows. This brow product has a tint of colour as the name suggests which helps fill in and even out your brows, this product is great for anyone with sparse brows. If used on its on you can still achieve a natural shade but if used with a brow powder underneath you can get a really polished off look. The brow tint also styles your brows as it is a gel consistency so it helps your brows stay on point all day long. This product is very buildable making it easy to achieve a darker colour if desired.

No 2. Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara in “Medium Brown”img_1898

Maybelline’s brow drama is a popular product! I have seen this all over magazines and adds on TV. This product is used to sculpt and shape your brows. You can use this to achieve different looks ranging from perfectly blended brows to fierce fluffy brows. You can use the tip of the spoolie to ‘colour in’ your brows starting from the back end of your brow and working your way forward then use the straight part of the spoolie to comb back your brows into the perfect shape. I personally found the shape of this wand really hard to work with and i made a lot of mess around my brows as i only have fine, small brows.

The Verdict:

For me personally the Australis Brow Tint is the pick of the bunch, it is much easier to work with especially for beginners, and the colour pay off is great and can be built up if needed. I do not enjoy the fact that the Maybelline Brow Drama is so messy to use because of the wand, so i don’t tend to reach for it that often. It is a shame as the shades available are great and very natural looking but the wand just lets this one down.

Whats your favourite brow product of the moment? Let me know in the comments below!

Have a beautiful day!

Review: Sleek Highlighting Palettes

Morning Beauties!

Today I’m doing a review of the cream and powder highlighting palettes from Sleek Cosmetics. I have seen and heard a lot about both of these and i am excited to share my opinions with you!img_1900

Packaging:

The packaging is super sleek and stylish, the powder compact has a reflective gold case with 4 shades inside while the cream compact has a gun metal coloured case and also has 4 shades. Each case comes with an applicator brush to use which is convenient for any one using these palettes on the go or while travelling. There is also a large mirror on the inside of the lid. The exterior is a sturdy case which i feel is good for protecting the product inside  while its in your handbag or makeup case and again for those travelling with the palette.

Product:

Cream – I am not a huge fan of cream anything really as i feel powder is easier to work with, Although these cream highlighters do have a nice colour pay off and seem to be quite long lasting – they dont budge during my 12 hour days which is great! One of the shades in this palette is a powder which is great if you didn’t want to buy the two palettes. There is a nice variety of shades in here including a frosty cream, a pinkish gold, a pale gold and a darker bronze colour. I feel there is a nice range of colours for all skin types to pick from this palette, this would be a great one to add to a makeup artists kit.img_1902

Powder: One thing i love about this highlighting palette is that it is so different to everything else on the market! The colours are not your ordinary gold, pale gold and bronze, Sleek have mixed it up with this one adding a frosty pinkish lavender shade and a coral orange shade – perfect for anyone who doesn’t like to follow mainstream trends and is a unique individual. The colour pay off is great the only thing i don’t really enjoy is there is a lot of glitter in these colours, i prefer a soft shimmer to give a subtle glow. I also feel like the colours are really light once applied so people with tanned or dark skin may find these shades hard to work with as they will give off a frosty colour. This palette again has one cream shade for variety.img_1903img_1906

Overall:

These palettes are super cute and stylish, have plenty of shades for variety so a lot of people can use these and they are really affordable! You can’t really go wrong with it! These palettes would be great for anyone starting out their makeup collection or kit. Have you used these highlighting palettes before? If so, whats your Favourite shade?

Thanks for reading, have a lovely day!
